Cannabis edibles have become incredibly popular in states that have implemented medical and recreational laws. Despite all of the jokes about space brownies from Amsterdam and Grandma’s special cookies, the new age of cannabis edibles is meeting the needs of many cannabis patients who do not find smoking or inhalation appealing.
The variety of these “medibles” is staggering, with many different subcategories available from thousands of businesses. The majority of edibles are packed with the psychoactive compound THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), but several brands have shifted their focus over to the non-psychoactive healing compound CBD (cannabidiol). Here are some of the different types of edibles available:
- Baked goods
- Ice cream
- Breath strips
- Butter (for making your own baked goods!)
The most important thing to remember is that cannabis edibles effect everyone differently. Because there is no standard dose, it is necessary for patients trying new edible products to begin with an extra small dose in order to avoid any overwhelming effects. Taking it slow is the only sure-fire way to understand your personal response to a product, even if the brand has portioned their products into certain doses (Korova doses are 50mg, for example).
Meet Some of Our Edibles Brands
Yerba is dedicated to delivering patients the best cannabis. In our experience, great cannabis products require solid company values. This is why it is so important to us that all of the brands carried here at Yerba do something above and beyond for the community at large. Check out these wonderful edibles companies and please always feel free tor each out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you feel there are cannabis brands making products that would fit well on the Yerba menu.
Chocolates from Kiva and Cali Gold
Kiva and Cali Gold are two very popular edibles brands in California. Both companies take great care to produce high quality chocolates infused with cannabis.
Kiva bars are divided into chocolate squares so that patients can easily divide a bar into multiple doses. Among the most popular Kiva products are the Tangerine Dark Chocolate and the Blackberry Dark Chocolate options.
Cali Gold has more than one chocolatier involved in the organization, highlighting how important the chocolate quality is to their mission. Their bars range from 36% to 70% cocoa to meet the tastes of all chocolate lovers. The Yerba team has seen an exceptional number of patients drawn to the THCA+CBD 50mg Bar. This edible is not psychoactive unless you heat up the chocolate for a slight THC effect.
Getting Baked (Goods) with Korova
Korova specializes in cookies and brownies infused with a lot of cannabis medicine. In fact, Korova’s Black Bar contains 1,000mg of THC! Considering that most people find a comfortable dose between 20 and 50mg of THC per serving, the Black Bar can provide anywhere between 20 to 50 doses per bar.
Treats from Morsel, Cheeba, and Choose Love
Cannabis treats cover a wide variety of possibilities. Many patients prefer these treats as a more lighthearted way to consume their cannabis medicine.
Morsel Bakery creates many different treats, from Snickerdoodles to Sour Belts. Yerba patients seem to gravitate toward the Cereal Treats which come in a Chocolate and Fruity version.
Cheeba Chews are another fun way to medicate with cannabis. These Quad Dose chews are available in Indica, Sativa, Hybrid, and CBD.
One of the most purchased brands on the Yerba menu is Choose Love. Choose Love cares deeply about people in general, which is why they set out to create wonderful caramels that melt in your mouth. Check out the Apple Pie caramels next time you order edibles.
Drinks from Waska and Morsel
Cannabis beverages are emerging as a very consistent form of edibles. The Hemp Milk available from Waska contains 150mg of THC in a 2oz bottle. Wasp’s Milks are available in Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry, and Cookies & Cream.
Morsel Bakery doesn’t just bake cannabis products. Their cannabis drinks, called Terpslurps, are 160mg of delicious cannabis liquid infused with Blueberry and Watermelon flavors.
Tinctures from TreatWell and Pills from YAK
Tinctures and pills are the future of cannabis edibles. While they are certainly not as “fun” as the multitude of more traditional edibles, these forms are proving to be the best product for patients seriously concerned with consistent doses.
TreatWell’s tinctures are already famous for their healing potential. TreatWell makes products with specific cannabinoid ratios so that patients can tailor their consumption specifically for their personal conditions. Everyone can find relief with TreatWell products, from children to grandmothers household pets! Tinctures from TreatWell are available in several ratios of CBD to THC, ranging from the non-psychoactive 20:1 Tincture to the slightly psychoactive (though not overwhelming) 1:1 Tincture.
Cannabis extract capsules are another form of edible cannabis that has become common on retailer shelves. YAK, one of the first branded cannabis companies, has been making whole plant cannabis extract capsules for years now. Their products are designed for oral consumption, and patients can induce a more rapid onset by microwaving the capsule in water. Each bottle contains 12 pills with 15.6mg each. Capsules come in Indica, Sativa, and Hybrid variations.
Building a Better Cannabis Menu
Yerba is committed to the patients we serve. If you would like to see new types of products on our menu, please email us at email@example.com with your suggestions. Some of the products we are most proud to carry actually came to our attention from patient feedback. Even if we carry that particular type of product, we are always open to exploring new brands who may add something special to their medicine (besides the cannabis)!
